Welded high manganese steel frog

Railway turnout is consist of switch rails, check rails, curved rails, frog, check rail and fastenings. As for the frog, there are many kinds such as high manganese steel casted frog, normal rail fabricated crossing(frog), alloy steel frog and so on. The casted frog with hardening is popular in the world.

The monoblock frog was casted from high manganese steel. Generally, the hardness was not more than 180HB, however, it can reaches above 300 HB after explosive hardening.

The connection between the frog and the rail could be welded and bolted with fish plate, both ways are ok.
